Darci the wonderful owner of EverythingMommyHood.com had this amazing recipe and I asked her if she would share it with all my readers. Since flu season is upon us and our little ones always picking up germs, more often then not we are looking to run to the drug store to grab some Pedialyte to keep our wee littles feeling better and stay hydrated. So here she is!

“I hate buying Pedialyte, it’s just so expensive, and then I feel like it gets wasted because it’s never completely gone and I have to throw it away. I wanted to make my own for my baby, as she was sick this week, and milk was not helping out in any way. I looked up a few different recipes on the internet, and made my own.

Ingredients:

3 1/2 cups of cold water

1/2 cup of boiling water

2 teaspoons of powdered jello, I used strawberry

3 tablespoons of sugar

1/4 teaspoon of salt

Directions:

Pour the jello, sugar, and salt into a pitcher.

Add in the boiling water and stir until the powdered ingredients are completely dissolved.

Add the rest of the water, stir, and refrigerate.

I like that this mixture is so simple, you know what’s in it, and it tastes a little bit better than the Pedialyte in the stores. It’s very easy to make and with ingredients almost any parent would have on hand.”

Amazing right? Again you can find Darci over at EVERYTHINGMOMMYHOOD.COM! Go and say hello :)

This is really cool, but for me, it’s easier just to run to CVS and get the real thing…..Sigh.
